Maria Goepert Meyer could get a Nobel prize but not a regular job. IIRC, she got a position only 2 years before the Nobel prize but she did not do much work after that!
Many Nobel Laureates take regular classes and they take it quite seriously.
One of my friend shared his office (and the telephone) with PAM Dirac and every time I called him, Dirac used to pick up the telephone. It took me sometime to figure out that it is the same Dirac! Imagine that here!
